NO Piercing Guns

Single-Use, Sterile Needles

We do not perform any piercings with a piercing gun at Superficial ModSpa. Piercing guns pose a variety of potential problems: they cannot be effectively sterilized, and piercing with a gun forces a dull earring post through tissue which can lead to scarring and embedding of jewelry.

Instead, of a piercing gun, we use sterile equipment, single-use hollow needles, and implant-grade 100% titanium jewelry for all piercings. This ensures every client, no matter what age, gets a piercing that is both safe and easy-to-heal.

Limit Number of People

If you or your child are experiencing ANY symptoms of illness such as a cough, runny nose, fever, etc., please do not come into the studio and reschedule your appointment. We will turn away anyone who presents with sick symptoms and will ask you to reschedule.

Limit Number of People

Our piercing rooms can only accommodate a limited number of people. Both parents or guardians may attend the appointment. For the efficiency of the procedure and to ensure the focus of the appointment remains on the child being pierced, we do not always permit the accompaniment of friends or siblings for minors getting pierced. A sibling who may be of comfort to the child during the procedure may be allowed in the procedure room at the piercer’s discretion. Please bear in mind that our piercing studio is a very "grown up" environment where hazardous materials and medical grade equipment are used daily. All guests in the studio will be expected to follow the guidelines as provided by the staff. Please call us (781) 803-3160 to inquire about bringing guests for minor piercing appointments.

We are an appointment based studio, and there are limits on the amount of time that can be dedicated to any scheduled procedure or appointment. If time runs out before we finish the appointment or if we are not able to complete the piercing (for any reason other than the fault of the piercer) we may need to schedule a new appointment to complete the piercings which would incur an additional set-up fee.

MINOR Identification REQUIREMENTS

For ALL appointments at Superficial ModSpa, minors and their parent/guardian MUST arrive to their scheduled appointment with the following documents:

Minor’s original or certified FULL LENGTH Birth Certificate

Minor’s original or certified FULL LENGTH birth certificate showing the minor’s full name, date of birth, place of birth, and parents' full names. This document MUST have the signature of the city, county, or state registrar and the seal of the issuing authority.

Parent/Guardian's Photo ID & Minor's (13+) Photo ID

A valid government issued photo ID for the parent/guardian. We accept passports, licenses, state ID, government ID, or permits.

A valid photo ID for the minor. We accept passports, school ID, permits, child safety card’s, or the minor’s most recent year book (children under 13 years old do not require ID).

In the case of legal guardianship, we will require the above stated document’s as well as court documents proving legal guardianship of the minor. In the case of legal guardianship, please call us at 781-803-3160 to confirm the necessary documents.

Ear Lobe Piercings

At Superficial ModSpa, we can offer ear lobe piercing services for children ages 5-9. We currently cannot pierce any child under the age of 5 years old.

We are unable to offer tandem lobe piercing services. Each lobe will be pierced individually, one after the other, by the same piercer using a single use sterile needle.

These prices include the cost of the lobe piercings, 100% hypoallergenic titanium, flat back earring posts, PriXxcription Saline Aftercare, along with NeilMed Saline Aftercare. The price will vary depending on the earring tops that are chosen.
